Volunteer Gardeners Needed in the Able Garden for Community Cooperative

Community Cooperative needs FGCU students and staff to help in their Able Garden. There are 5 opportunities available that are listed below.
1. Work with volunteer master gardeners to support the planned beds.
2. Plant, weed, and maintain soil balance for a healthy garden.
3. Maintain a clean workspace for the garden tools in the shed.
4. Create seedlings to hand out in Community Market
5. Harvest Fruits and Vegetables for Community Market
If you are interested in Biology, Agriculture, or any other major, you are welcome to collaborate with Community Cooperative's Able Garden for a service learning project.
The mission of Community Cooperative is to eliminate hunger and homelessness in Lee County while simultaneously inspiring and supporting sustained positive change in its clients by delivering innovative food, education, and social service programs.
This is a recurring opportunity that occurs on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 am - 11:00 am.

Once the application is received, Community Cooperative will conduct a background check. This process should only take 24-48 hours. Once complete, you will receive a notification that you are welcome to explore their volunteer opportunities calendar and sign up for open volunteer positions.
Students who complete this event gain skills in Teamwork/Collaboration and Professionalism/Work Ethic.
